Portfolio of Web Development

Boco is a new sister company of my current employer, FDA Design. My main task at Boco is to create an ecommerce website from scratch. Specification for the website include the ability to browse books in the 4 categories (art, heritage, wildlife and countryside), allow users to add books to a shopping basket, calculate total price with VAT and delivery at checkout and integration with PayPal.

The database-driven website is built using ASP.NET and C#. The basic layout of the website is designed by a colleague and using CSS, I styled it to their exact design.

The purpose of this website is to promote the Denby Dale and Kirkburton area, built for a client at FDA Design. The site is basically a directory listing of hotels, restaurants and things to do in the area and include contact details and links to other sites.

I was responsible for collecting data and choosing photographs as well as building the whole site by myself. I styled the site using CSS to follow my colleague’s general layout design. This site is built using ASP.NET and C#.

This website was built for a friend. He is a designer and wanted a site to display a portfolio of his work. The website was designed by him and I built it according to his exact design, using HTML and CSS.

My sister Kaki Ho is a fashion design and she wanted a website to show off her collection and to keep in touch with people. Because of the nature of her business, I decided it was a good idea to use a slideshow to display her collection. I used a JavaScript plugin to achieve the slideshow effect. The site was built in HTML and CSS.

I created this web site for a course assignment that I studied at the Open University. The specification was to design several web pages for a company selling pots and pans. The main focus was to address usability and accessibility within the design. My solution concentrated on assisting visitors to complete their task quickly therefore I have placed popular products on the homepage as well as using plenty of contextual hyperlinks.

The site was built in HTML and uses an external CSS style sheet.

aka-Mi is a retailer concentrating on homemade kitchenware. This webpage design was created to be used to assist with promoting and selling their products on ebay. It was written in HTML and CSS.

Cooking Bird is an online community forum for people interested in cooking. It allows users to search and upload recipes and ingredients.

It is developed in VB.NET and uses CSS for styling.
